An extraordinary finish awaits on the last game day in the men’s LBBL. No teams knows exactly at what place they will start the play-offs. ( –> 18 players competed in our 3 X 3 tryout (pictures) ) The most thrilling finish waits for the last play-off place, the 8th place in the standings! 3 teams have the chance to make the play-offs and avoid the relegation group: Musel Pikes, AB Contern and T71 Dudelange.
This decision will fall on March 5th, after the national team break, on game-day 22.
These are the scheduled games for the 3 involved teams:
Telstar – T71
Contern – Musel Pikes
T71, Contern and Musel Pikes are tied in the standings with 29 points (8 wins, 13 losses) so that the direct comparison might become the decisive factor. A 3-team-tie is not possible because Contern and the Musel Pikes meet each other.
Who qualifies when?
Musel Pikes
–> The Musel Pikes will reach the 8th place with a win over Contern!
AB Contern
–> AB Contern reaches the 8th place with a win over the Musel Pikes and a loss by T71 at the same time.
T71 Dudelange
–> T71 reaches the 8th place with a win over Telstar and a win by Contern over the Musel Pikes!
The situation shows that the Musel Pikes are having the best chances of reaching the 8th place because the team has the qualification in its own hands while Contern and T71 need a win and help. All is set for a final showdown on the last game day!
