Alex Laurent has found a new club in Belgium, Courtrai in the second league. After playing in Spain and Austria over the last years, the captain of our national team now took on a new challenge.
Asked about his new challenge, Laurent says: „I played in countries (Spain, Austria) that were far away from home over the last years. Especially with the Covid-situation, I was not able to see my family and friends for a long time and that is one reason why I wanted to play in a team that is closer to Luxembourg. My new team has a clear vision, we want to play in the BNXT league in the season after the upcoming season (2022/23) and that is a challenge that I am looking for. They have shown a lot of interest in me over the last weeks and explained to me that they want to go that way with me as a player and that is why I took on this challenge. One of my goals always was to play in the first Belgium league and this opportunity gives me a good chance to earn the right to compete in that league in 2 years so that I am really looking forward to the challenge. »
Alex Laurent will also play with the men’s national team in August –> Luxembourg’s men will compete in the second round of the World Cup qualifiers in August!
