The second game of the semi finals was played in the men’s LBBL on Saturday evening.
Arantia Larochette – Amicale Steinsel 88:100
– Amicale wins the series 2:0 and advances to the finals
– Arantia jumped out to a quick start and led 17:2 after 2 and a half minutes
– The hosts hit 12 three-pointers in the first half (!) and led 55:54 at the break
– Amicale dominated the fourth quarter and managed to win the game and the series on the road
– Alex Reese scored 30 points, Tom Konen added 20 as all Amicale-starters scored in double digits
– Both teams combined for 28 threes (16 for Arantia, 12 for Amicale)
T71 Dudelange – Basket Esch 79:80 (double overtime)
– The series is tied at 1:1, the decisive game 3 will be played in Esch on Wednesday
– Esch had the better start (10:2) and kept the lead until the break (36:29)
– T71 fought back in the third quarter and both teams had 49 points heading into the final quarter
– Esch had a chance to win the game at the end of regulation, but Clancy Rugg missed the shot (video)
– In overtime 1, Kevin Moura hit a clutch shot to put T71 up by 2 points (video) but Clancy Rugg tied the game with 2 free throws and T71 had the ball with 12 seconds remaining, Kevin Moura was not able to hit the long 3-pointer
– In overtime 2, Clancy Rugg (who scored 26 total points) put the team on his back with 8 points and Thomas Grün made the decisive basket with 20 seconds remaining
In the women’s play-offs, T71 and Gréngewald advanaced to the finals –> T71 and Gréngewald will meet in the finals
