On Wednesday-evening, the second game of the best-of-5 finals in the men’s LBBL was played in Dudelange. Amicale Steinsel was able to tie the series at 1:1 after a very strong performance on the road.
Right from the opening tip, Amicale was extremely focused and jumped out to an early lead after the firstb quarter as the guests scored 31 points in the first 10 minutes. T71 reacted in the second quarter but Amicale had another run before the break and took a 52:37 lead into the locker rooms at half-time. Jarvis Williams, who had an off night in game 1, was in attack mode and made it difficult for Dudelange to control him.
T71 started a big run in the 3rd quarter and came as close as 5 points, Amicale managed to take a 9-point lead into the final quarter after a and-1-layup by Melcher (video). T71 made another run in the final quarter but Amicale showed a strong reaction, Tom Konen hit a clutch 3 pointer to put his team up by 10 points (video). Amicale went on to win the game by 7 points.
Jarvis Williams scored 30 points, Bob Melcher (23) and Tom Konen (18) came up big for their team in this important road victory. T71 had 3 players with more than 20 points (Taylor, Kalmes, Greenwood) but it was not enough for the hosts.
Game 3 will be played on Monday in Steinsel on Sunday!
