The LBBL season is only one week away! Teams are currently at a late stage of the preparation. On Sunday, the men’s Supercup was played in Kayl.
2022/23 LBBL champion Basket Esch was able to beat cup winner Etzella Ettelbruck 82:73 in Kayl. As the only team in the men’s LBBL, Basket Esch is starting the season with the same professional players (Clancy Rugg and Jordan Hicks). On Sunday, Thomas Grün scored 21 points to lead his team while Clancy Rugg (18), Jordan Hicks (16) and Joé Biever (14) scored in double digits as well. Brandon Johnson led Etzella with 21 points, Philippe Gutenkauf, JICL MVP of the 2022/23 season, added 18 points.
No Supercup was played in the women’s competition this year.
