On Saturday, game 1 of the quarter finals series between Basket Esch and T71 was played.
Basket Esch – T71 80:74
– 7 T71-players scored in the first half as the guests had a 39:35 lead at the break
– In a very exciting final quarter with mutliple lead changes, Esch had the better finish to take a 1:0 lead in the series
– Clancy Rugg had a big double double with 23 points and 14 rebounds, 4 Esch-players scored in double digits
On Sunday, game 1 of the series between Etzella and Amicale will be played in Ettelbruck (17:15).
In the relegation group, The Musel Pikes clearly beat Telstar 97:64 behind 44 points by William Christmas and Racing won a close game, 85:82, against Contern.
The new standings:
1. Musel Pikes – 38 points (26 games)
2. Contern – 36 points (26 games)
3. Telstar – 34 points (26 games)
4. Racing – 31 points (26 games)
The Musel Pikes can stay in the LBBL with another win or a loss by Contern while Telstar needs 2 wins and 2 losses by Contern at the same time to take the second place. Furthermore, Telstar would also have to win the direct comparison in that scenario.
