The Hedgehogs Bascharage earned a big win by beating league leader Kordall Steelers on Saturday, the final score was 88:79. Christopher Barton had 35 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists, Tyrell Sturdivant added a double-double 21 points, 13 rebounds) and Vincent Welter added 15 points for the hosts. Bascharage improves its record to 11:7 and keeps the pressure on Mondorf and Black Star in the standings. Kordall (15:3) remains in a comfortable position to promote to the LBBL.
On Sunday, Mambra Mamer earned a very important victory over Avanti Mondorf, the final score was 64:61 in a close game. 4 Mamer-players scored in double digits as Billy McDaniel led the way with 17 points. With this win, Mamer improves to 10:8 and stays in a decent position to attack the top 3 places in the standings even if the team of coach Mike Smith still has to make up points over the next weeks to become a serious contender in the promotion-race. Mondorf remains second in the league standings but the team has lost 2 straight games to start the play-offs.
Racing Luxembourg (9:8) and Black Star Mersch (12:5) did not play this weekend so that they have one less game in the standings.
