Samy Picard is back on the basketball court. The president of the Luxembourgish basketball federation will reinforce AB Contern for the rest of the season.
After he decided to end his career at age 29, he now felt the desire to compete again and found a new club in Contern. Contern’s assistant coach Yves Ackermann, a longtime friend of Picard, has tried many times to recruit Samy and now it finally worked. „Just like many other times, we had a few beers together and finally, I was able to talk him into a commitment. In the first practices this week, he made a good impression, I am sure he will become a big part of the team quickly. »
After Raul Birenbaum’s season ending injury, free agent forward Picard will help the team from Contern as an experienced player in the upcoming important games in the play-off-race.
Picard lastly played for Amicale Steinsel. He previously played for the Musel Pikes and the Gladiators Trier.
