A tough game between Luxembourg and Greece in Contern (LUX)
The greek team wanted to sign a third victory against a luxembourgish team with no experience at such a high level., but by practising a fast basketball the hometeam managed to equal with the greek team in the 2nd and 3rd quarter of the game.
But Greece built up their victory in the 1rst quarter (17-26) by playing out their professionalism and experience and in the 4th quarter (13-26) when the luxembourgish team got tired legs an had to many turnovers.
But the overall performance of Luxembourg was the best so far in this campaign.
A game in which Luxembourg showed their heart an desire to compete at this level and never gave up fighting.
The top scorers were: Nadia Mossong (12) for Luxembourg and Dimitra Kalentzou (11) for Greece
Luxembourg dominated even the rebounds by 33 to 32.
This 4th defeat in 4 games showed that , with more games at such a high level Luxembourg can create some surprises in the future by beating better ranked teams.
For the greek team the final round for Euro 2013 in France is their aim but after already 2 defeats in 4 games this will be a tough challenge to realize.
