Game 1 of the men’s finals will be played this Sunday! After T71 (against Arantia) and Basket Esch (against Contern) were able to qualify for the semi-finals in a play-in game, they will now start the semi-finals on the road against the best of the regular season.
17:15 Etzella – Basket Esch
Etzella Ettelbruck finished the season as the strongest team in the league, now they will face the champs from Esch. They split the 2 games in the regular season, the road team was able to grab the win in both games. Both teams can rely on multiple players to score the ball, there are experienced and younger players on both sides and this look like a series without a favorite on the paper even if Etzella has the home-court advantage bonus. the question will be which team can strike first and take a lead in the series.
Previous games this season:
Esch – Etzella 96:101
Etzella – Esch 82:88
18:30: Résidence – T71
The promoted team from Walferdange has played a great season so far. Their balanced team is difficult to predict offensively and they have a lot of size inside with Francois and Eberhard. In addition, the team of coach Kreps was able to beat T71 twice this season, both games were extremely tight and just like in the other series, there is no clear favorite in this « best-of-3 »-series. T71 is all in this season, it is the last season of Tom Schumacher and Frank Muller and coach Ken Diederich will also leave the club after this play-offs so that they are on a last run together to bring a championship to Dudelange. They took the first hurdle by beating Arantia in the play-in game, now they need to find a way to beat the team from Walferdange.
