It is time for game 2 of the semi finals in the women’s and men’s play-offs. All 4 games will be played on Saturday evening.
Women:
18:00 Résidence Walfer – T71 Dudelange
18:00 Sparta Bertrange – Gréngewald Hueschtert
Men:
20:00 Arantia Larochette – Amicale Steinsel
20:30 T71 Dudelange – Basket Esch
In the women’s play-offs, both road teams will have a chance to enter the finals. Gréngewald dominated game 1 from start to finish and clearly won 78:57 behind 5 players scoring 9 points or more. Sparta has been without a chance in the rebounding battle (38:61) and also only had 3 free throw attempts, plenty of things to improve on in this second game if the team of coach Mike Feyder wants to keep the season alive.
T71 realized a comeback victory at home in game 1 and will now try to enter the finals on the road. Résidence played extremely well, especially in the first half on Wednesday and they have shown that they can beat the champs with a great perormance. The addition of Sierra Grace Moore gives T71 a lot more opportunities, she scored 18 points in her debut for the team of Jéróme Altmann.
In the men’s play-offs, Arantia is facing a « mission impossible » as the club announced that they have parted ways with professional player Jamison Overton whose contract was dissolved by the club after he was disqualified from game 1. Now it is time to show that the team can continue to play strong at home, but they need a much better shooting percentage than on Wesnesday (28 %). The guests from Steinsel are the clear favorite to enter the finals after cruising to a 39-point victory on Wednesday.
Basket Esch played extremely poor on Wednesday, Joé Biever said on RTL radio that there is << no positive thing to take out from the game >> after a 54:84 loss at home on Wednesday. The team shot 28% from the floor, they need to show a completely different face in Dudelange to bring the series back to Esch. T71 clearly has a lot of confidence after a clear 30-point victory in game 1.
