Game day 7 was played in the women’s and men’s LBBL on Sunday.
In the women’s league, Etzella earned its first win of the season by defeating Amicale 79:67. Their professional trio Jaksic/Coleman/Scott combined for 69 points. Behind 27 points by Mikayla Ferenz, the Musel Pikes were able to cruise in Esch and finally won 87:47. Gréngewald won on the road in Walferdange (88:80). After having a big lead, Résidence had a late run but could not come closer. Cassandra Brown scored 29 points for the greens. Wiltz won 75:66 against Contern behind a monster game by Schultz, she had 30 points and 25 rebounds! The unbeaten leader T71 cruised past Sparta and already led 26:5 after 10 minutes, Dudelange won the game 91:57 in the end.
In the men’s league, Arantia earned a second win of the weekend by beating Amicale 102:80. T71 won on the road in Ettelbruck in a close game (83:80). Etzella had a last chance to tie the game (video) but came up short. Despite only hitting 4 shots from behind the arc, Racing was able to beat Telstar 87:78. Basket Esch cruised to a big 97:67 win against the Musel Pikes, the guests are still without a victory this season. Behind a balanced team effort, Résidence won 89:74 against Heffingen. Malcolm Kreps (17 points) had another big highlight-dunk (video). Lastly, Sparta beat Contern 93:72 behind Holland’s 25 points. In the standings, Sparta and Résidence are the leaders after this game day with a record of 6 wins and 1 loss.
