Gameday! Cup semi-finals start on Tuesday-evening

The cup semi-finals will start this Tuesday-evening. In the women’s LALUX Ladies Cup, Amicale Steinsel will play against T71 while Arantia will face Etzella Ettelbruck in the men’s Loterie Nationale Coupe de Luxembourg.

Women’s league leader T71 has earned the right to be called the clear favorite in every game this season as the team has an incredible record of 21 wins and only 1 loss this season in the championship. Dudelange won both games against today’s opponent this season, 83:66 and 81:66. Last weekend, T71 was able to beat Gréngewald in the first game of newely acquired Dominique McBryde, she replaced Shalonda Winton who is still recovering. Amicale Steinsel is the defending cup chmapion, the club won the women’s cup in 2019, 2018 and 2017, three years in a row. 2019 was the last year where the cup competition was played.

In the men’s cup competition, the defending cup champion Etzella is also in action this Tuesday against Arantia. Etzella enters this semi-final with a slightly better record (15:7) compared to Arantia (13:9). The team from the North has also won both regular season games against today’s opponent. On paper, Etzella might be the slight favorite but both teams are equally strong so that all spectators can expect a thrilling game.
