On Saturday afternoon, the first game in the women’s finals was played in Dudelange.
T71 Dudelange – Gréngewald Hueschtert 71:82
– Gréngewald leads the best-of-5 series 1:0, the second game of the series will be played in Oberanven on Wednesday (19:30)
– Mandy Geniets missed the game next to Catherine Mreches, who has been out for several months. Nadia Mossong had to leave the game after only 2 minutes with an injury
– Behind a strong Dowdell (14 points in quarter one), Gréngewald led 26:16 after 10 minutes
– Gréngewald extended the lead in the second quarter with a fast playing style, T71 was not able to stop the fast breaks by the guests and Gréngewald led 47:29 at the break
– T71 cut the lead to 10 points in the third quarter and once again just before the end of the game, but Gréngewald was never in danger of allowing the hosts to turn the game around
– Shanavia Dowdell led Gréngewald with 29 points as 4 players scored in double digits for the guests
