The 3rd out of 4 rounds in the men’s National 2 has been played, only one rescheduled game (Mondorf – Mess on Thursday) is on the schedule next week. After most teams have played 21 games out of 28 total, Gréngewald Hueschtert sits on top of the standings with a big 5-point-lead to a non-promotion spot, the « greens » could potentially clinch their ticket to the LBBL over the next 2 game-days.
Gréngewald dominated gaainst direct opponent Zolwer (79:54) on Sunday, Janssen scored 24 points while Luc Breuskin added 19 as the team of coach Alex Pires improves to an 18:3 record. Zolwer defends the second place despite the loss, the team only made 1 shot from behind the 3-point-line. Council (25) and Vic Heuschling (16) were the only Zolwer-players with more than 4 points.
The Hedgehogs Bascharage missed a chance to regain the second place after losing to the Kordall Steelers, 86:89. Both teams had 4 players in double digits as Hobbs led his team to this victory with a game-high 32 points.

Dieckelman will now look to stay in the league with Mess, the team is having a comfortable advantage over the bottom teams Mamer and Mersch at the moment.
Last placed team Mamer is showing some fight as the team has won its second straight game after the return of Denell Stephens by beating Mondorf 84:82. Bedirhanoglu scored 27 points while McDaniel (22) and Patrick Hoffmann (21) added 20+ points to secure a win for Mamer. The team overcame a weekend-high 42 points by Small.
After 3 rounds have (nearly) been played, the standings show the following picture: Gréngewald is the favorite to promote while Zolwer, Bascharage and Mondorf will fight for the second place which is a direct promotion place and the 3rd place that will allow a team to play a promotion-series against the third last placed team from the LBBL. On the bottom of the standings, Black Star and Mamer already trail a non-relagtion spot by at least 4 points which will be difficult to overcome with 7 more remaining games.
