The women team of Gréngewald Hueschtert has played the first game of their EuroCup qualification duell against Uniao Sportiva/Azoris Hotels on Thursday evening. The team from Luxembourg was able to win the game 52:49 and is an excellent position to qualify right now. The rematch in Luxembourg will be played next Wednesday (October 12th at 19:00).
It was low scoring and very baöanced game on Thursday, coach Francois Manti played with a small rotation, 4 players played all 40 minutes and only 6 players stepped on the court for the greens.
Dejza James led the team with 21 points, Samantha Logic posted 10 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists while Katarina Vuckovic scored 15 points, Lisy Hetting added 6 points for Gréngewald. Despite only making 1 shot from outside the arc and receiving only 4 free-throws in the entire game, Gréngewald was able to earn a hard fought victory on the road.
