The ending with the bitter loss in Montenegro was certainly a big disappointment. Nevertheless, the women’s qualification overall can be recorded as a great success. Luxembourg managed to collect 4 wins in 6 games including victories in front over 1000 spectators at the Coque in Kirchberg.
Luxembourg’s women’s team was able to trigger a wave of euphoria in the local sports scene over the last months. A big basketball community supported the team and showed its support which was a very positive sign.
With the current team and the many young and talented players in the roster, the women’s national team is certainly capable of making some noise over the next years.
