The regular season in the men’s National 2 is over. On Friday and Saturday, game day 16 was played.
US Heffingen was able to grab a 94:89 victory on the road in Zolwer and with this win, Heffingen reaches 30 points at the end of the regular season, the team is the clear favorite to promote to the LBBL heading into the upcoming play-offs. Jonathan Janssen scored 40 points as Heffingen overcame a game-high 49 points by Zolwer’s Tylik Evans. Heffingen also played with a new professional player, Taeshon Cherry played in place of Jeff Early who played for Heffingen over the last 3 weeks.
The Black Frogs Schieren had to realize a comeback on the road in Monnerich against BC Mess to grab a 79:68 victory in the end. The hosts led 29:10 after the first quarter, but Schieren fought back behind a combined 62 points by Hampton (26), Reynolds (22) and Schaaf (14). The team of coach Nigel Tolentino enters the play-offs as the number 3 seed, certainly a positive surprise.
While resting their professional players, Racing Luxembourg cruised to a 76:46 victory on the road against Telstar Hesper. The promoted team from Hesper played without professional players all season, the team was not able to fight for a victory.
On Saturday, Avanti Mondorf cruised to an 81:66 win over the Hedgehogs Bascharage. Newly added John Ross led Mondorf with 32 points and 21 rebounds.

The top 6 teams will play the play-offs and meet each other twice in a total of 10 game days, the points from the regular season are being kept. The best two teams promote to the LBBL, the 3rd placed team will play a best-of-3 promotion series against the third last placed team from the LBBL.
BC Mess, Bascharage and Telstar will play against the best two A-teams from the National 3 (Beetebuerg and Clervaux) in a group of 5 teams, the best 4 teams have the right to play in the second league in the upcoming 2024/25 season.
