The 4th out of 10 game days was played in the men’s National 2 play-offs this weekend.
The Kordall Steelers are moving towards the LBBL with big steps. On Saturday, the team of coach Tara Booker earned a 85:65 win over Racing Luxembourg which improved Kordall’s record to 17:3, the promotion to Luxembourg’s highest league seems to be only a matter of time for the team from the South. Scott Spencer (26 points) and Abdulai Bundu (25) led the hosts to a comfortable victory.
Avanti Mondorf earned a key win over Black Star Mersch on Saturday. In fact, Mondorf was able to take a 2-point lead over the direct opponent for the second place in the standings. Mondorf hit 11 threes on the road as 4 players scored in double digits for the guests. Roger Ray (33 points) made his debut for Black Star, he replaced league’s leading scorer Tylik Evans.
On Sunday, Mambra Mamer was able to beat the Hedgehogs Bascharage, the final score was 89:64. Mamer led by 10 points going into the fourth quarter but started the final quarter with a 15:0 run to decide the game. With this victory, Mamer passes the opponent in the standings and is 2 points behind the second placed team Mondorf. 4 players scored 15+ points for Mamer on Sunday as Lewayne Grant finished with a triple double of 25 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists.
