16 game days have been played in the men’s National 2 and the regular season is over. With an impressive 14:2 record, the Kordall Steelers enter the play-offs as the favorite to promote to the LBBL. Avanti Mondorf finished the regular season on the second place with a 12:4 record while Black Star Mersch comes in third with a 11:5 record. 2 out of the 6 play-off teams will immediately promote after the play-offs after 10 games while the third placed team will play a best-of 3 promotion series against the third last placed team of the LBBL. The Hedhegos Bascharage played well lately and jumped to the 4th place with a 10:6 record while Mambra Mamer (9:7) has fallen in the rankings over the last weeks. Racing Luxembourg has a balanced record (8:8) heading into the play-offs.
In the play-down, BC Mess, Les Sangliers Wiltz and Black Frogs Schieren will compete with Telstar Hesperange and Nitia Bettembourg from the National 3. The points in this group of 5 teams will be set to zero. 4 out of the 5 teams will play in the second division next season and the National 2 will have 10 teams once again in the upcoming 2023/24 season.
On the last game day, Black Star Mersch earned a key victory over the Hedgehogs Bascharage, the final score was 76:74 in favor of the guests. Tylik Evans (34 points, 12 rebounds, 8 assists, 6 steals) had another monster performance to lead Mersch. The Kordall Steelers were able to beat the Black Frogs Schieren 92:70 behind 35 points by Scott Spencer. Avanti Mondorf scored 130 points en route to a clear 130:82 victory over Wiltz, Blake Seits scored 45 points to lead his team. Mambra Mamer won 104:89 against BC Mess, Billy McDaniel scored 39 points to lead Mamer.
