In the women’s league, Nadia Mossong, leading JICL MVP candidate at the moment, scored 35 points (9/14 3-pointers) to lead T71 to a 85:57 win in the top game against Gréngewald as Dudelange stays unbeaten. Second leading JICL MVP candidate, Esmeralda Skrijelj, also had a monster performance leading Amicale to a 69:56 win over Contern. Skrijelj finished with 32 points and 18 rebounds. Basket Esch managed to beat Wiltz 64:59 while Résidence won 86:72 against a shorthanded Musel Pikes team as Cathy Schmit (season out) and Charlie Bidinger (quarantine) missed the game.
In the men’s league, Arantia stormed back in the final quarter (25:11) to grab a home win over Sparta, the final score was 81:72, Sturdivant had 35 points and 13 rebounds. Basket Esch overpowered Racing 96:73 as Rugg led all scorers with 32. It was Pit Rodenbourg’s first game back as head-coach of Racing and Cory Johnson’s first game for Racing, he finished with 17 points and 12 rebounds. 92:53 was the final score between T71 and Contern as 4 T71-players scored 12+ points, Kalmes had a team-high 22. Amicale won a close game 88:80 against Telstar, Jarvis Williams, the only professional player for Amicale, scored 42 points and Melcher added 26. Lastly, Heffingen was able to beat the Musel Pikes 70:64 behind Max Schmit’s team-high 16 points.
