Our U18 ladies started the European Championship (Division B) on Friday with a game against Greece. The FLBB squad starts the tournament with a victory (63:62) on a late basket by Ehi Etute.
Isa Hamalainen (16 points) and Ehi Etute (11) scored in double digits in the first half and the FLBB-squad trailed by 2 points (33:35) at the break.
In a thrilling finish, Etute scored the decisive basket (video), she finished the game with 26 points and 19 rebounds. Isa Hamalainen added 19 points. What a start into the tournament for our team!

We are extremely happy that the girls were able to show their potential.
The key to this win was our defense. Our goal was to keep them every quarter under 15 points and we almost did so.
We succeed on slowing down Greece’s quick playing rhythm and transitions.
It was a great fight against a team that plays normally A division and a country which has great basketball traditions.
Today we enjoy the win, tomorrow is a new day and the championship goes on.
