Luxembourg beats Malta and enters the final! (game stats and highlights)

Our women’s national team is in the final at the European Championship of the small countries. On Saturday, Luxembourg was able to dominate the game against Malta, the final score was 89:46.

Luxembourg took control of the game from the start, the FLBB-women forced 2 turnovers on Malta’s first 2 possessions and after 2 minutes and 45 seconds of playing time, the score was 10:0 in favor of our women. Once again, an aggressive playing style on the defensive end was responsible for a strong start. Mossong and Meynadier hit 2 shots from long range to put Luxembourg up 20:5. Malta was able to stay in the game until the middle of the second quarter but the FLBB-squad stepped on the gas again before the break to go into the break with a comfortable lead (50:25). In the second half, Luxembourg kept controlling the game and did not allow any hopes on Malta’s players to make a comeback. Thanks to a big rotation, our coaching staff managed to keep the women’s legs fresh for the final on Sunday.

Already in the third quarter, all 12 players of Luxembourg scored at least 1 point!
Anne Simon led Luxembourg with 19 points, Mossong (16), Meynadier (11) and Vujakovic (10) scored in double digits as well.
Luxembourg had 21 assists.
