Luxembourg’s women’s national team has lost the fourth game of the 2025 Eurobasket qualifiers. On Sunday, the FLBB squad lost 44:59 against Switzerland in front of 1300 spectators at the Coque in Kirchberg.
Starting 5: Hetting, Meynadier, Simon, Cahill, Ehis Etute
Luxembourg had a solid start into the game behind Ehis Etute, she kept scoring under the baskets and gave Luxembourg a 8:3 lead. However, Luxembourg had difficulties to score afterwards and only had 21 points on the scoreboard at the break, Switzerland led 31:21 after 20 minutes.
Luxembourg fought back in the third quarter and even took the lead late in the third quarter. Unfortunately, Ehis Etute had to leave the court with an ankle injury and Luxembourg entered the last quarter without her.
In a close fourth quarter, Switzerland was able to come out on top after 40 minutes. Luxembourg lacked the necessary shooting touch (1/19 threes) and finally lost by 15 points. Switzerland also wins the direct comparison with this result.
Amanda Cahill (15 points) and Ehis Etute (14 points, 14 rebounds) led Luxembourg.

In the upcoming window in February, our ladies will have the chance to write Luxembourgish basketball history. While the loss against Switzerland was certainly a setback, they still enter the last two games as the group leader and with a good chance to qualify for FIBA Eurobasket 2025.
