On Wednesday evening, our men’s national team hosted Ireland for the second game in the FIBA EuroBasket 2025 PreQualifiers. In front of a sold out crowd of 1413 spectators at the Coque in Kirchberg, Luxembourg lost 76:96.
Ireland led the game 40:37 at the break and were able to extend the lead to 11 points after three quarters. The guests were able to react strong after Luxembourg cut the deficit to 3 points with a run in the middle of the third quarter. In the final period of the game, Ireland had the decisive run to secure the victory.
Alex Laurent (16 points), Bob Melcher (15), Thomas Grün (11) and Philippe Gutenkauf (10) scored in double digits for team Luxembourg.
