Mamer hands Mondorf first loss

Most teams in the men’s have played 6 games, Black Star Mersch and Racing Luxembourg have played 7 games and the standings are starting to show a trend in the second highest league of the country.

On game day 7, the previously unbeaten leader Avanti Mondorf lost 77:87 on the road against Mambra Mamer. Billy McDaniel (26 points, Dakota Zinser (22) and Lazar Lukic (22) had great scoring games to earn the 4th win in 6 games for Mamer. Mondorf has a 5:1 record after this game.

On Saturday, 3 games were played. Sparked by their new addition Abdulai Bundu, who scored 30 points in his debut, the Kordall Steelers were able to beat the Hedgehogs Bascharage 88:65. Spencer added 24 points for the hosts in the victory. The Steelers continue to underline their ambitions as the team has a 5:1 record after 6 games. With a balanced record (3:3), Bascharage is in the middle of the standings.

Racing Luxembourg is slowly climbing the standings after a poor start into the season. The team has a 3:4 record after beating newcomer Black Frogs Schieren 86:82 at home. Matt Weir scored a team-high 30 points to overcome a game-high 31 points by Schieren’s Williams. Tim Ittenbach had his personal scoring season high with 21 points but it was not enough for Schieren, the team is at the bottom of the standings with a 1:5 record.

Black Star Mersch clearly won its road game against the Sangliers Wiltz 112:77. Evans (40) and Mayfield (39) combined for an impressive 79 points, 2 more than the entire team of the opponent. Jason Landman made his debut for Wiltz, he scored 26 points. The team from Mersch has a 4:3 record while Wiltz is at the bottom of the standings with a 1:5 record.
