League leader Kordall Steelers has already clinched a spot in the LBBL next season. On Saturday, the team of coach Tara Booker lost 88:103 on the road in Mamer. With this victory, the team of coach Mike Smith jumped to the second place in the league standings. 5 players scored scored in double digits for Mamer, Dakota Zinser scored 28 points to lead the team as Mamer is now in the best position to earn the second promotion spot.
Avanti Mondorf falls to the 3rd place after losing 87:92 on the road in the capital against Racing Luxembourg.4 players scored more than 12 points for Racing and the team hit 13 threes to win this game as Racing overcame a game-high 38 points by Blake Seits.
Mondorf’s head coach Philip Dejworek (picture) will leave the team at the end of the season as the club announced during the week. Dejworek spent 3 seasons in Mondorf.
The Hedgehogs Bascharage were able to draw tie in the standings with opponent Black Star Mersch by beating them 95:84. Christopher Barton (27) and Tyrell Sturdivant (26) were the main scorers for their team.
Tied at 34 points, Black Star, Bascharage and Racing all have a realistic chance to earn at least the 3rd spot which will allow a team to compete for promotion in a series.
