National team head coach Mariusz Dziurdzia is satisfied with his team’s performance in Italy.
„We played a strong game for 3 quarters, our team showed a great fighting spirit and played well for long stretches. In the last quarter, we started to become a little bit tired. We did a great job of competing with the possibilities that we have against a very physical and tall opponent, Lisa (Jablonowski) is the only really tall player on our roster. We received very positive feed-back from Italy’s coach, the referees and other people, they were surprised that we were competitive for 3 quarters. With a higher shooting percentage, we could have stayed in the game even longer. All in all, it was a great experience for our ladies to play against such a great opponent. The difference between the league in Luxembourg and these national team games is huge and we can learn a lot from these games. We are proud of our performance in Italy. The loss against Switzerland is still in my head because there we could have won the game. Unfortunately, we will now have to wait one year before the next games on this level. »
