Our 5vs5 men won the semi final game on Friday against Cyprus, the final score was 66:60. After our women team was able to enter the final earlier on Friday ( –> Ladies beats Malta and will play the final ), the men’s team also qualified and will have a chance to win the gold medal on Saturday.
Luxembourg had a fast start and led 8:0 after a highlight dunk by Alex Laurent (video). The FLBB squad kept playing at a high pace and took a 22:8 lead after Kreps’ buzzer beater to end the first quarter (video). However, Cyprus managed to storm back before the break and Luxembourg « only » had a 4-point lead at half-time (34:30). In a very intense second half, Luxembourg managed to come up with a 6-point victory.
