Men’s JICL MVP race presented by QUBE

The second edition of the men’s JICL MVP race is presented by our partner QUBE.

1. Mike Feipel (Sparta)
National team player Feipel climbs to the top of the list after consistent strong performances. He is the second leading JICL scorer of the league with nearly 17 points per game as he can score from inside and outside. He is also a strong rebounder and takes over responsibility in clutch moments.

2. Yann Wolff (Etzella)
Wolff is the only JICL player who averages a double double. Etzella is a top team in the league and Wolff has been a consistent force under the baskets of Ettelbruck.

3. Pit Biever (Basket Esch)
Biever was number 1 in our first episode and now comes in on the 3rd place. His energy on both ends of the floor is a very important aspect for Basket Esch. His improved 3-point-shot makes it difficult to guard the third leading JICL scorer in the league.

4. Bob Melcher (Amicale)
Melcher is the leading JICL scorer in the league and he is also the best JICL passer. His team had a slow start into the season and if Amicale can become stronger over the next months, Melcher might be a candidate for the top spots at the end of the season. He also scored a JICL season high 32 points in one game.

5. Xavier Robert-Francois (Résidence)
Résidence is the leader in the standings with an 9:2 record. Because Résidence is such a balanced team, Dean Gindt and Malcolm Kreps were candidates for a place under the top 5 too. Francois is not only an anchor under the baskets but also a good passer and he is playing on a consistent high level for Walferdange.

Other players to watch
Next to the top 5 players in this second episode, other players might be in the discussion to enter the MVP race in the future. Philippe Gutenkauf is clearly the main candidate to enter the list as he has been part of the top 5 players in the first episode.
Max Schmit is leading a strong Heffingen team this season and Derek Wilson is the strongest JICL player on Arantia’s roster and the new national team player is highly motivated to become a better player at age 30. Other players like Mihailo Andjelkovic could become a factor in the race if they continue to play at a high level.
