Mess and Mondorf win close games, Steelers stay on top

The 10th game day was played in the men’s National 2 this weekend.

The Kordall Steelers stay on top of the league with a 9:1 record after beating Racing Luxembourg 89:83 on Saturday evening. Abdulai Bundu (30 points, 13 rebounds) led his team to this victory on the road, Scott Spencer added 24 points. Despite only making 11/22 free throws and 4/19 threes, the guest beat the team from the capital. Racing’s record drops to 5:5 after 10 games.

BC Mess managed to win a very close game against Les Sangliers Wiltz, the final score was 93:91 after hectical final minutes and seconds. Andre Kennedy scored a game-high 34 points to lead his team to a victory in front of their home fans, he also added 14 rebounds as Mess improves its record to 3:7 and stays in the race to make the play-offs in the second league. Wiltz has a 2:8 record and falls to the 8th place in the league. Jones (34) and Landman (32) combined for 66 points for the guests.

Black Star Mersch stays in a good position after beating the Black Frogs Schieren 95:87. League top scorer Tylik Evans had another great performance and finished with 44 points as Mersch overcame 41 points by Schieren’s Walter Williams. Black Star is third in the standings with a 7:3 record, Schieren is at the bottom of the league standings with a 1:9 record.

On Sunday, Avanti Mondorf and the Hedgehogs Bascharage played a game that was decided in the final seconds. In the end, the hosts were able to win 66:64. Jalen Green led his team with 25 points and Bob Hemmen added 12 points for Mondorf. Christopher Barton’s game-high 26 points were not enough as the record of Bascharage drops to 4:5 while Mondorf stops a negative trend and imrpoves its record to 7:3.
