Avanti Mondorf is the second team that promotes to the LBBL. After US Heffingen clinched promotion several weeks ago, Mondorf can now celebrate on the final game day of the play-offs. It is the first time in the history of the club that the club will play in the highest league.
On Saturday evening, Mondorf stormed back from a large deficit but finally lost 78:79 in overtime ain Mersch. The Black Frogs Schieren were able to beat Heffingen 76:68. The team will compete in the « Barrage », a best-of-3 promotion/relegation series against the Musel Pikes. Schieren will have home court in game 1 and a potential game 3.
The Musel Pikes were able to beat Mamer 71:59 and will now have a chance to stay in the LBBL with a series-win against Schieren. The Kordall Steelers relegate to the National 2, the team of coach Tara Booker lost 92:99 at home against the already relegated team Gréngewald Hueschtert.
