Nadia Mossong will play her final game with the national team on Sunday in Slovakia. The 36-year old player of T71 Dudelange has played for the national team for an astonishing total of 19 years!
Nadia talked at the press conference after Thursday’s game at home against Italy and underlined that the game against Italy, a country that „has become her second home », motivated her to play these final two games for Luxembourg. „It is amazing that I was able to enjoy all these years with the national team, there were so many great moments. Obviously it is also a little sad that this chapter will end but I am at peace with my decision to put an end to my career in the national team. »
Mossong was also the center of some jokes over the last days within the team because she already played for the national team when other members of the team were not even born yet. Mossong will, however, still play for the 3X3 national team of Luxembourg in the upcoming summer.
