In the men’s National 2, game day 17 was on the schedule on Saturday evening.
Behind 31 points and 12 rebounds by Tylik Evans, AS Zolwer was able to grab a 91:73 road victory in the capital against Racing Luxembourg, the hosts only had one professional player available in this game. The guests had a strong start (28:12 first quarter) and knocked down 12 three pointers to secure this victory which allows them to draw even in the standings with the opponent.
League leader US Heffingen won a road game in Monnerich against BC Mess, the final score was 78:56 in favor of the guests. Jonathan Janssen had a big double double with 33 points and 21 rebounds.
Avanti Mondorf grabs a 76:62 victory on the road in Schieren. Jake Ross, former player of the club, returned to Mondorf as the team of coach Bob Adam will play with 3 professional players from now on. Mondorf is currently 6th in the league standings with an 8:7 record and the addition of Ross clearly shows the goals of the club are high for the upcoming play-offs and sends a message to the opponents. Mondorf missed the promotion the last 2 years while playing in the promotion-series in both seasons.
Black Star Mersch cruised to an easy 89:61 victory against the winless team Telstar Hesperange. Mersch is the first team to finish the regular season, the team has won 11 straight games!
