T71’s women’s assistant coach Julie Kremer took part in the women’s basketball summit in Slovenia, here is a report by the young coach:
„Thanks to the FLBB I was able to attend the 15th FIBA European women‘s basketball summit which took place in Postojna/Slovenia from July 5th to 9th.
The summit was led by Elisabeth Cebrian, former WNBA player, head of Women in Basketball and Special Projects in FIBA, together with FIBA instructors Albena Branzova-Dimitrovs, Janez Drvaric and Silvia Font.
We were a group of 20 female coaches from 20 different European countries.
During an intense 4 days, we attended severals workshops/clinics such as beating your opponent 1 on 1, pick and roll metholodgy as well as the art of successful shooting.
We listened to guest speakers, Marina Maljkovic, head coach of the Serbian women’s national team, Liz Mills, first female coach of a men’s national team as well as sports psychologist Dubi.
We were also able to coach/practise with the U14 girls from the Slovenian national team.
However the most interesting part was sharing experiences and ideas among female coaches and bonding so quickly and forming a one-of-a-kind group in such a short time.
It was a wonderful experience and I can only recommend every female coach in Luxembourg to go for it too if you get the chance.
Therefore, once again a big thanks to the FLBB for making this unforgettable experience possible.“
