The semi-finals start this Saturday in the women`s Total league. While T71 and Amicale will meet for game 1 in Dudelange, the Musel Pikes will host Résidence Walfer for game 1 in Stadtbredimus.
Résidence-coach Tara Booker knows that her team is facing a tough opponent. In their 2 meetings this season, the Musel Pikes won both games with a difference of only 3 points in each of the 2 games. For Booker, the most important thing will be that her team „remains focused on us; on our style of play, our tempo, our confidence, our energy, our heart. I truly feel our team is loaded with potential and can compete with the best this league has to offer if we are able to consistently play at the level we are capable of playing at. »
After their play-in game against Etzella, coach Tara Booker needed to change the focus quickly: „It is very difficult to have such a quick turn around between opponents, but that is what the playoffs are all about. Pikes is a very strong opponent and we have watched them play many times this season, so I do feel like at this point in the season we both know each other’s team personnel quite well. I feel like my team is locked in and focused in preparation for Pikes and I am looking forward to a very competitive semi-finals. »
Résidence has 2 extraordinary strong professional player in Cahill and Logic, both players are able to score 40 points or post a triple-double in any game against any opponent. The Musel Pikes` scoring is usually more balanced while Bridget Yoerger is the anchor in the zone. In their last meeting a few weeks ago, the Pikes focused on not letting any other player next to Cahill and Logic find a rhythm. The duo ended up with 57 combined points, but the Pikes came up victorious in the end (71:68) behind 29 points by Cathy Schmit and a near triple-double by Yoerger (10/12/9). This series has no clear favorite and should be very exciting to watch! Make sure you watch the games in the RTL LIVE ARENA
