Résidence-women take 1:0 lead in the finals

On Wednesday-evening, game 1 of the women’s finals was played in Dudelange. It was the first women’s game in front of supporters in year 2021. The guest from Walferdange strike first and win game 1 on the road.

T71 – Résidence 64:79
– Michèle Orban had a great start into the game (8 points in quarter 1) but no team was able to take a bigger lead
– Logic showed her overall skill set with fancy passes, jumps shots and moves and Résidence led the game at the break (36:39), Shalonda Winton cut the lead to 3 points with a buzzer-beater before half-time
– Résidence kept making big shots in the 3rd quarter and took a 6-point-lead into the 4th quarter (50:56)
– T71 tried to slow down Résicence with a full court defense, but the guests found the right answers and win game 1
– Ex-WNBA-player Logic had a monster game with 25 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists, Cahill added a double-double and Olsen scored 14 points
– Winton led T71 with 22 points, Mossong added 13 points and 13 rebounds

Game 2 will be played on Saturday in Walferdange at 19:00 o’clock! All the pressure will be on T71 to force a decisive game 3.
