Anne Simon has reached her big dream in year 5 at Maine university. She was able to win the America East Division with her team and will now have a chance to compete at the big March Madness tournament.
In the final of the America East tournament, number one seed Maine played against number 3 seed Vermont, Maine won 64:48 behind 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists by Simon. Simon was selected player of the year and defensive player of the year in the division. She was also selected MVP (most outstanding player) of the America East tournament and selected into the all tournament team.
In the March Madness tournament, the 68 best college-teams will compete in single-elimination games. The opponent of Maine will be known on Monday, there is a possibility that Maine will play against the top team IOWA – stay tuned to get the latest news.
