Anne Simon has made some noise this season in her 5th and final year at Maine university. The team finished the regular season in first place and she was named America East « player of the year » as well as « defensive player of the year ». Logically she is also part of the team Ameria East « team of the year ».
With the start of the play-offs, the main goal of the season and of Anne’s career in the USA is on the line. She wants to be part of the March Madness tournament … only one team of the America East division will qualify. Therefore, Maine needs to win the quarter final, semi final and final, 3 single elimination games. During her career, Simon came close to winning the division several times, this year her dream can become reality.
In the quarter finals on Friday, March 8th (5 p.m), Maine faces Massachusetts Lowell, a team that Maine was able to beat twice this season. Maine will have home court advantage in each of the next 3 games. We wish Anne best of luck for the upcoming play-offs!
