No decision in the men’s play-off race (videos)

5 games were played in the men’s LBBL on Saturday.

Basket Esch – Sparta 87:91
– Sparta still played without Quintin Dove, Joé Biever missed another game for Basket Esch
– Rugg had 21 points at the break, Esch led 45:44 after 20 minutes
– Holland had foul problems in the second half and fouled out of the game 4 minutes before the end
– Basket Esch had a chance to tie or win the game at the end, but their 2 shot attempts were missed (video)
– Verbeelen (22 points) led Sparta, Holland (17), Feipel (15), Logelin (15) and Schomer (13) scored in double digits as well
– Rugg led Esch with 35 points
– Sparta improves its record to 14:6, Basket Esch’s record drops to 12:9

Arantia – Heffingen 87:77
– Johnson (33) and Sturdivant (26) came up big for Arantia to win the derby in front of 300 fans in Larochette
– Max Schmit (24) and Lou Demuth (21) were the main scorers for Heffingen
– Arantia will have a chance to catch Heffingen in the standings on the last game day

Musel Pikes – Telstar 82:77
– All 5 starters scored 11+ points for the Pikes, the team had no points off the bench and stays in the play-off race after this victory
– Prince Foster scored a game-high 30 points, Telstar will play in the play-down together with Racing

T71 – Amicale 84:66
– Joe Kalmes led T71 with 26 points, Kevin Moura added 19
– Jordan Dallas scored 22 points for Steinsel

Etzella – Contern 102:86
– Criston Mallory scored a game-high 33 points, Mihailo Andjelkovic had 23 points to lead the guests

On Friday, Dean Gindt (37 points) led Résidence to a 105:90 win over Racing.

–> With these results, thre play-off race stays interesting and will be decided on the last gam-day in 3 weeks between the Musel Pikes, Contern and T71. Right now, the teams will be on a break because our national team will play on February 27th. ( roster –> Ken Diederich announces roster for game against Albania on February 27th )

In the women’s LBBL, 1 game is scheduled for Saturday:
Musel Pikes – Amicale 79:77 (OT)
– Mikayla Ferenz led the Pikes with 29 points, Braydey Hodgins also scored 29 points for the guests
– Michelle Klepper had a chance to win the game from half court (video)

On Friday, Etzella surprised T71 by handing the champion their first loss of the season in a 95:78 victory. Résidence had no problems to overpower Contern 109:63. Gréngewald and Basket Esch did not play this weekend.
