Spuerkeess Journée Nationale 2022: a very successful edition
After a year break due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the traditional « Spuerkeess Journée Nationale » took place again in Dudelange this last Sunday April 3rd.
A total of 65 teams of the categories « Poussins/ Poussins » and « Minis/ Fillettes » took part throughout the day. The program included a FIBA 3×3 tournament and skills challenges for each team.
In the challenges, the players competed individually and could test their level of the fundamental Basketball skills. Each participant ran through five drills where she/ he was challenged to meet individual goals in the fundamentals such as dribbling, passing, shooting and athletics.
While the players worked on their skills in the Hartmann gym, the Grimler gym was split up into 4 separate 3×3 courts.
Starting at 9:10 in the morning, the Poussins (17 teams) and Poussines (15 teams) fought hard for the 8 quarterfinal spots in each category. Just before lunchtime, Crazy Chicken (Poussines) and AB Contern 1 (Poussins) won the finals and came out on top of the standings.
In the afternoon, a similar 3×3 tournament was organized for the Fillettes (9 teams) and Minis (21 teams). Greens Fillettes and T71 1 Minis were able to win the final games of the day and take home the 1. place trophies in their age group.
