Start of the men’s quarter finals and play-down / Final game day of the women’s regular season

On Saturday and Sunday, the men’s play-offs quarter finals will start.

The first team with 2 victories moves to the semi finals. The second game is already scheduled on Wednesday. After their cup victory last weekend, Basket Esch hosts Arantia Larochette, a dangerous opponent in the first round. First seed and runner up in the cup final, Etzella Ettelbruck, hosts Résidence Walfer, a team that has struggled over the last weeks.

A total of 6 game days will be on the schedule in the men’s play-down over the next weeks.

Game day 1 will be played this weekend. A look at the standings shows that Mondorf is under pressure. The team needs a winning streak to stay in the race to reach the second place in the standings. If Mondorf loses against Heffingen and the Musel Pikes grab a victory against Mamer, Mondorf’s chances of staying in the first league are only theoretical.
Mamer is in a very comfortable position to start the play-down, the team has a 3-point lead over Heffingen and the Musel Pikes. After strong last weeks with multiple victories, Mamer is looking to clinch a spot in the Enovos League for next season as soon as possible.

After 6 game days, the bottom two teams will relegate to the National 2 while the second placed in the standings will play a best-of-3 series against the third placed team of the National 2 play-offs.

In the women’s Enovos League, the final game day of the regular season is on the schedule. One decision remains open, Sparta Bertrange and AB Contern fight for home court in the semi finals.

If Sparta wins its game against Amicale Steinsel on Friday, the team clinches the second seed and will have home court. Contern needs Sparta to lose on Friday and a victory on Saturday against Wiltz at the same time to earn home court in the semi finals. League Gréngewald Hueschtert will enter the semi final matchup with home court advantage, they could face T71 or Contern depending on the other results.
