On Thursday evening, T71 Dudelange played the 6th and final game of the EuroCup competition. At home, the team of coach Jérôme Altmann lost 59:72 against Benfica from Portugal.
T71 Dudelange played at an even level over the first 3 quarters of the game, the hosts showed a strong performance and made the guests from Portugal fight for this victory on the road. Dudelange trailed by only 4 points at the break. In the third quarter, it seemed like the team from Portugal could go on a run, but then Manda Geniets caught fire and hit 4 straight 3-pointers (video) to help T71 stay in the game. With a deficit of 6 points, Dudelange went into the final quarter. In the final quarter, Benfica was able to take control of the game and finally won by 13 points.
Mandy Geniets led T71 with 16 points, Shalonda Winton (11) and Zykera Rice (12) scored in double digits as well.
