On Thursday-evening, T71 Dudelange hosted Fribourg for the second game in the EuroCup group phase.
Fribourg started the game with 6 made threes in the first quarter and took an early 28:16 lead after 10 minutes. T71 showed a reaction in the second quarter and cut the deficit to 6 points (26:32) which forced Fribourg into a timeout in the middle of the quarter. Dudelange was not able to stop the opponent consistently and Fribourg scored 49 points until the break, 35:49 was the score after 20 minutes.
The guests kept scoring and therefore stayed in the lead until the final buzzer. T71 came as close as 9 points at one point in the middle of the final quarter, but Fribourg reacted and kept control of the game. When Jade Compton hit a three to cut the deficit to 8 points (79:87), only 55 seconds remained on the game clock. T71 showed enormous fighting spirit but could not get in reach in the final minute and finally lost 84:94.
Courtney Range had a monster game for the guests, she finished with 33 points and 10 rebounds. Shalonda Winton led T71 with 19 points, Jade Compton added 18 and Faith Ehi Etute had a double-double (12 points, 10 rebounds).
