T71 and Gréngewald were in action on Wednesday evening on game day 4 in the women’s EuroCup.
T71 played a strong first half at home against the group favorite from Spain. The score was tied at 17 after 7 minutes and even though the guests were able to create a leasd until the break, T71 managed to compete and put pressure in the defense of the opponent. At half time, Girona led 48:35. T71 was able to win the third quarter 20:17 and continued its strong performance, the team cut the opponent’s lead to 6 points at one point. In the end, the final score was 86:68 in favor of the guests, a result that is definitely a strong one for the team from Luxembourg. Ehi Etute had a double double with 17 points and 13 rebounds., Mia Loyd led Dudelange in scoring with 18.
Gréngewald did not find its rhythm to start the game on the road in the Czech Republic against Brno, the hosts led 64:31 at the break! Gréngewald was able to win the third quarter (12:8), but clearly lost the game in the end, the final score was 59:95. Amanda Cahill led the Greens with 25 points in her EuroCup debut. Samantha Logic missed this game so that Gréngewald played with the trio Van Kleunen / Cahill / Mbuyamba.
