On Wednesday-evening, T71 Dudelange started the EuroCup campaign with a 71:97 loss in Spain against Spar Girona, one of the top teams in the first league in the country.
The hosts started the game strong and took an early double digit lead. However, T71 reacted well and was able to stay in the game, Dudelange trailed 21:28 after 10 minutes. Mia Loyd had a strong first half with 17 points, T71 trailed by 15 points at the break (35:50).
Girona was able to extend the lead after the break and finally won the game by 26 points. T71 fought well and was able to win the final quarter 22:15 which allowed the guests to keep teh deficit under control. Mia Loyd led the team with 27 points. Nadia Mossong missed the road game because of work. Next Thursday T71 will have its first home game of the competition.
