T71-women beat Gréngewald / Sparta-men jump to 1st place

2 games were played in the LBBL this Friday, one game in the women’s and one game in the men’s league.

T71 – Gréngewald 72:57
– season debut for Dominique McBryde, she led T71 with 21 points, Catherine Mreches added 20
– Cassandra Brown led Gréngewald with 21 points
– T71 led 26:25 after a low scoring first half
– The hosts scored 26 points in the third quarter which was their total in the first entire half and built a lead
– T71 has already clinched the 1st place earlier (21:1 record) while Gréngewald (13:9) is 4th in the standings

Sparta – Racing 82:73
– Lavone Holland, Yannick Verbeelen and Mike Feipel did not play for Sparta, Racing played with Waldow as only professional player
– Tristin Walley led Sparta with 25 points, Max Logelin added 17
– Sparta (16:6 record) is currently 1st in the standings and might even finish first if Résidence loses against Arantia on Saturday
– Racing finishes the regular season last in the standings (4:18)

The women team of Sparta Bertrange has won the key game of the promotion and relegation group against direct opponent Wiltz on Friday-evening.

Sparta – Wiltz 86:60
– Roksana Schmidt scored a game-high 26 points, Laura Henket added 20 points and 15 rebounds
– Sparta already led 46:23 at half-time
– Sparta (3:0 record) stays unbeaten in the promotion and relegation group, Wiltz has a record of 2:1


In the promotion and relegation group, the best team from the LBBL (Sparta or Wiltz) and the best team from the second league (Zolwer or Racing) will play in the LBBL next season.

Zolwer was able to beat Racing 52:44 and made a big step towards promotion.
