Our U16 boys played the final classification game (places 21-22) of the European Championship (Division B) on Saturday. Luxembourg lost 82:91 against Ukraine after overtime. With this crucial loss, the FLBB team relegates to the Division C for the next European Championship.
Luxembourg had a slow start and trailed 0:9 after four minutes. However, the FLBB squad fought back and took the lead early in the second quarter. Ukraine had another run before the break and led 38:25 after the first half. Luxembourg stormed back in the second half and the game was decided in the final minutes. Ukraine hit a 3-point shot late in the 4th quarter and the game went into overtime. In the extra 5 minutes, Luxembourg was outscored by 9 points and lost the game.
