Our U16 boys played preparation games in Austria as the team is currently preparing for the European Championship (Division B) in Pitesti (ROU).

From 28th to 30th July 2023, our U16 team had their last exchange with the U16 National team of Austria in St.Pölten, Austria.
These were our last games before the European Championship, which begins next Friday, 4th of August in Romania.
In the two competitive games, our team had the opportunity to fine-tune certain aspects before the European championship’s first game that starts on Friday, 4th of Augst in Romania.
During the first half of the opening game, both teams were evenly matched. However, in the third quarter, Luxemburg managed to build a 15-point lead. Unfortunately, after some unnecessary turnovers, Austria fought back and took the game to overtime. However, our U16 players showed great character in the last 5 minutes, finding a way to secure the victory.
In the second game, Austria’s U16 team, who will also be participating in the European Championship in a few days, was determined to show a strong response The game unfolded similarly to the previous day. The first half was evenly matched before Austria managed to build a lead of 16 points in the 3rd quarter this time. Despite a strong comeback in the final quarter, Luxembourg couldn’t turn the game around, and the well-deserved victory went to Austria.
This experience has provided valuable insights and preparation for our team as we head into the European Championship, ready to give our best effort.
