Our U16 boys and girls are currently in Riga to compete in the EYBL / EGBL games.
Our women lost game 1 at the buzzer against the U15 team from Lithuania 42:45. After a strong first half, the girls could not hold the same level in the second half and lose on a last shot.
In the second game, Luxembourg came up with a victory (60:45) against Jugla/Riga. The girls played very well and showed a lot of fighting spirit. They forced their opponent to multiple turnovers and won the rebounding battle despite being the much smaller team. However, the team needs to limit their tunrovers in the upcoming games.
Our U16 boys lost their first 2 games at the tournament, here is a report by the coaches:
Georgia – Luxembourg 62:52
Coaching staff: „The team played well, the spirit was good, we fought until the end, the team is improving, we still have to find more consistency defensively.“
BC Wings – Luxemburg 54-48
„We took ten minutes to get into the game defensively but we had a good second and third quarter. However, we lacked the lucidity to finish the match which did not allow us to win it in the end. However, this end of the match allowed us to determine things that we must work on.“
